NU's Sheena Toring has change of heart for NBA Finals pick

Looks like someone is now a fan of Mile High City.

The NU Lady Bulldogs' Sheena Toring was one of the players invited by Cignal TV for the NBA Finals watch party last Thursday in Makati.

Who was she rooting for?

"Miami Heat before, but now Denver," Toring wrote in an Instagram Ask Me Anything, along with a laughing emoji.

Miami is the first play-in squad to reach the NBA Finals, surviving injuries to eliminate the Milwaukee Bucks, the New York Knicks, and the Boston Celtics.

But the altitude, the injuries, and the effort from a seven-game Eastern Conference Finals may have been too much for the Heat, as the Jimmy Butler-led squad took a beating in Game 1 right in Denver, against the Western Conference top seed.

And all that might have contributed to Toring's sudden change of heart.

Aside from revealing her choice between the Nuggets and Heat, Toring also answered questions about her recovery from the knee injury she sustained during the UAAP Season 85 women's volleyball finals.

It appears Toring is focused on recovering fully, which means she is likely to pass up on preseason action.

In an Ask Me Anything Instagram story last week, Toring had previously shared that she has already started on her strengthening workout.

"So far, so good. Mabilis [ang] recovery," she posted. "I can walk properly after almost two weeks."

"Pero pinagsabihan ako, I need to take it slow daw."

Nood na lang muna ng NBA Finals, Sheena, and continue rooting for your team!

Game of the NBA Finals will be aired live this Monday, June 5, at 8 a.m. on TV5 and on NBA TV Philippines.
