Amid the UP Fighting Maroons’ poor shooting start against the Adamson Soaring Falcons, veteran guard Terrence Fortea reminded everyone why he’s a top-notch shooter in the league.

During State U’s massive run in the third quarter, Fortea hit back-to-back three-pointers to give the Fighting Maroons the lead and the momentum in the match.

The 23-year-old guard finished with 13 points on 3-of-3 shooting from beyond the arc, with five rebounds, one assist, and two steals.

Fortea is coming off an injury-riddled Season 86, where he saw limited minutes due to a right knee injury.

But now fully healthy, Fortea continues to stay ready whenever called upon by coach Goldwin Monteverde.

Fortea has also made sure to forget about his past struggles, focusing instead on UP’s campaign this season.

Having played sparingly to start Season 87, the streaky guard readied himself to shoot his way into form for the Fighting Maroons—doing so in a rather convincing fashion.

“Hindi ko rin alam ano mangyayari pero siguro ready lang talaga kahit nasa bench pag nanonood, mina-mindset sarili ko na once pumasok ako, bigay ‘yung strength ko [na] three-point shooting and kung ano man ‘yung ibigay sakin ng depensa,” said Fortea.

Fortea will look to continue his hot shooting in the Fighting Maroons' upcoming match against the UST Growling Tigers on Wednesday, October 2 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.
