UAAP Preview: DLSU seeks revenge against streaking UE
With the DLSU Green Archers gaining the top spot in UAAP Season 87, they now set their sights in avenging their loss to the UE Red Warrions in the first round.

The DLSU Green Archers are set to clash with the UE Red Warriors in a high-stakes Round 2 matchup of the UAAP Season 87 Men’s Basketball Tournament on October 9, 6:00 p.m., at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

DLSU, the defending champions, are coming off a massive win against the UP Fighting Maroons, the very team they defeated in last year’s finals. That victory, which handed UP its first loss of the season, propelled DLSU to the top of the standings with a 6-1 record.

However, their only loss so far came at the hands of UE, making this rematch a shot at revenge for the Green Archers.

Reigning MVP Kevin Quiambao will once again be the focal point for DLSU. Leading the league with 16.43 points per game, Quiambao has been a dominant force on both ends of the court. His 5.43 assists per game (3rd in the league), 8.86 rebounds (5th in the league), and 1.29 steals per game (5th in the league) further showcase his all-around ability.

Adding to his impressive stats, he tops the league in three-point shooting with 2.29 made threes per game, making him a tough matchup for any team.

Meanwhile, UE enters the game on a red-hot five-game winning streak.

Fresh off an electrifying win against Adamson, sealed by a buzzer-beating shot from Wello Lingolingo, the Red Warriors sit comfortably in third place with a 5-2 record.

With confidence high, UE will be looking to repeat their Round 1 victory over DLSU and solidify their position among the league's top teams.

This game is set to be an intense battle, as DLSU aims to avenge their only loss, while UE looks to continue their winning momentum.

Expect both teams to come out with everything they have as they fight for positioning in the competitive UAAP Season 87.
