Kevin Quiambao showed why he's the reigning MVP, making it rain with a career-high 29 points for the De La Salle Green Archers in the UAAP Season 87 overtime win vs the UST Growling Tigers.
Kevin Quiambao delivered a career-best performance, scoring 29 points to lift the De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers over the UST Growling Tigers in a 94-87 overtime win in UAAP Season 87 men's basketball at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Quiambao also contributed nine rebounds, three assists, and one steal as La Salle improved to 8-1 on the season, extending their win streak to five.
The Archers jumped out to a 14-0 start and built a 20-point lead in the first half, but UST clawed back, tying things up at 80-all in the fourth frame.
However, they were unable to convert on the possession and the game went to overtime.
In the extra period, Quiambao and the Archers locked down on defense, holding UST to just seven points in five minutes.
UST, missing key player Mo Tounkara due to an ejection, never led throughout the game and fell to 4-5 on the season, suffering their second consecutive loss.
