Nigerian big man Precious Momowei was called for two unsportsmanlike fouls, which resulted in his ejection during UE’s game against UST.
Nigerian center Precious Momowei of the UE Red Warriors has been handed a one-game suspension by the UAAP, following two unsportsmanlike fouls during their previous game against the UST Growling Tigers last weekend.
Momowei, who was also suspended for one game last year, was thrown out of the game against UST with five minutes and change left in the fourth quarter, after his elbow came in contact with the face of UST’s Gelo Crisostomo which left the latter bloodied.

It was the second infraction for Momowei during that game where he had a similar incident with Mo Tounkara, which also resulted in a bloody nose during the second quarter for the UST first-year player.
The UE stalwart apologized to both players after UST’s 76-67 win, saying that the elbows were unintentional.

Still, the UAAP stuck to its ruling of the two unsportsmanlike fouls.
According to league rules, a student-athlete disqualified, thrown out, or ejected from a game for unsportsmanlike behavior is prohibited from participating in the immediately following game.
Momowei will thus miss UE’s game against Ateneo on Wednesday, November 13, at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.
The Red Warriors (6-6) are still in the running for the Final Four and are in the middle of a three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Ateneo (3-9) is seeking a strong end to its season after being eliminated from semis contention.
