UAAP Season 86 Finals MVP Alyssa Solomon confirmed that she already has plans after her collegiate career as early as now, even as she just starts her fourth year with the NU Lady Bulldogs in their title defense for UAAP Season 87.

Still with one year of eligibility left with the Sampaloc-based squad, Solomon said that there is already something in the works — which matches with batchmate Bella Belen’s plans, as she also confirmed that this was her final year with the Lady Bulldogs.

“May plans na po pero focus pa rin ako sa UAAP. May plans na after this [season],” said Solomon after their three-set win over La Salle Sunday.

Despite having other plans already, Solomon said that she remains focused on helping the Lady Bulldogs defend the crown and seize their third UAAP title in the last four years.

Along with Belen, Solomon wants to be able to inspire the new generation of players with the Lady Bulldogs so that they can sustain success even once they move forward with their respective careers.

“Every single game ibibigay namin yung best namin para ma-motivate yung mga maiiwan namin lalo na maraming bata, para masanay din sila sa sarili nila and maging confident sila na pag nakikita nila yung ates nila na maganda yung ginagalaw ma-inspire sila,” she said.

Though staying coy on what’s next, Solomon promised that she isn’t about to think too far ahead, and said that she was still 100 percent committed to the Lady Bulldogs program.

“Kapag may nandyan talaga sa harap ko focus lang talaga ako doon, hindi ko muna pinapansin yung sa future kasi mangyayari yun dito muna ako sa present,” she said.

Solomon also expressed confidence in the next stars for the Lady Bulldogs that even without her, and by extension Belen, the NU squad will continue to flourish, especially as they ushered in the new era with champion head coach Sherwin Meneses.

“Confident ako kasi pare-parehas lang naman kami ng tine-training, it’s up to them kung pano sila mag-keep up sa skils lalo na pare-parehas ng pinapagawa si coach She. Dapat same, same lang din once na may lumabas dapat same pa din,” she said.

While a career post-NU is already on her mind, Solomon and the Lady Bulldogs still have the rest of UAAP Season 87.
