Super rookie Shaina Nitura had no qualms taking the bad with all the good things in her first year of playing for the Adamson Lady Falcons.
Rookie Shaina Nitura does not have any problems with taking losses in her first year with the Adamson Lady Falcons in UAAP Season 87.
After a humbling defeat at the hands of the DLSU Lady Spikers, Nitura and company made quick work of the UE Lady Warriors in three sets, 25-20, 25-15, 25-12, where she finished with a double-double of 18 points and 11 excellent digs.

Though it stung to be on the wrong end of a matchup, Nitura said that it was something that helped them to be better.
“We have to [experience] madaanan yung mga ganung bagay kasi 'di kami magle-learn if 'di namin madadaanan 'yung mga challenges na ganu'n, 'yung talo.” said Nitura.
“If 'di namin makikilala si talo, pano namin makikilala si panalo, 'di ba?” she added.
Going up against a dangerous and win-hungry UE squad, the Lady Falcons were quick to douse any hopes of an upset, and Nitura’s continued rise in her individual game was key.
Breaking the rookie record in her first game for Adamson earlier this month, Nitura has since been refining her game. But as she continues to rake in the experience, the 20-year-old has continued to grow.
“Over time naman po sa past three games, medyo mas naglu-loosen up na po kami actually as a team at sa'kin din po. 'Yung mga unang games, medyo stiff nga po talaga. Sobrang limited ng ginagalaw ko.” she said.
“[With] more experience pa siguro, more games to come, more challenges to come and [I’ll] grow.”
Despite a dominant bounce back, especially apparent in the lopsided third set, Nitura denied being too worked up after the La Salle loss. Instead, she said that it was something they aim to bring to every game this season.
Regardless of who they face, Nitura and company hope to perform with their best foot forward.
“Actually wala naman po[ng gigil]. Kung paano namin hinarap yung La Salle, yung Ateneo, and yung other teams na haharapin namin, we face them the same way.” said Nitura.
“If we have to improve more, kunyari past game, di kami ganun kagutom, siguro ia-adjust namin. Pero 'di [lang] naman rason yun to be hungry. Manalo man, matalo, dapat hungry pa rin. Dapat consistent.” she added.
Apart from Nitura, another first year player for Adamson in Frances Mordi who ended up with 10 points.
The Adamson Lady Falcons are thus at 2-1 for the year and will face last year’s finalists UST Golden Tigresses on Saturday, March 1, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
