Alyssa Solomon powers the NU Lady Bulldogs to a three-set victory against the Adamson Lady Falcons, 25-21, 25-23, 25-18, for their sixth straight win in UAAP Season 87 at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.

Solomon was highly efficient for the Sherwin Meneses-led squad, finishing with 22 points on 15 attacks, four blocks, and three aces to send Adamson reeling to their third straight defeat.

The Lady Bulldogs were tested in Set 2, when the Lady Falcons seized the four-point lead, 20-16, after an NU attack error. But an 8-2 run, punctuated by an attack from Vange Alinsug, flipped the script on Adamson as NU was at set point, 24-22.

While the Lady Falcons were able to save one set point due to an NU error, the Lady Falcons ended up with an error of their own — reaching beyond the net — which gave the Lady Bulldogs a masterful 2-0 lead over their foes.

In the third set, NU broke away midway after going neck-and-neck at 15-14.

But a Solomon attack gave NU a two-point cushion heading into the second technical timeout. NU finished the game on a 6-0 run.

NU is now 6-0 heading into their finals rematch against UST this weekend while Adamson are losers of three straight games at 2-4.

Frances Mordi and Shaina Nitura both finished with 13 markers each for Adamson in the losing effort.
