FEU targets a quick bounce back as the Tamaraws seek win no. 10 in UAAP Season 87 against the UP Fighting Maroons.
Back to the drawing board are the no. 1 FEU Tamaraws.
The Morayta-based squad aim to regain their winning form in a second-round showdown with the UP Fighting Maroons in the UAAP Season 87 men’s volleyball tournament, Sunday, April 6, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Game time is at 9:00 a.m.
FEU saw its unbeaten start to Season 87 end at the hands of the four-time defending champion NU Bulldogs in a five-setter last game.
Dryx Saavedra took the scoring cudgels for Tamaraws with 20 points, while rookie Mikko Espartero contributed 15 markers for the Tamaraws.
Ariel Cacao tallied 15 excellent sets in a game where FEU forced a fifth set, but fell short of a 10th straight win as this season will now see a traditional Final Four playoff format unfold.
Despite the loss, the Tamaraws remained as the no. 1 team with their 9-1 record with the Bulldogs just lurking behind with a 8-2 slate.
Now looking to get back on track, FEU will look to extend its mastery of UP, as the Tamaraws have beaten the Fighting Maroons in 11 of their last 12 meetings.
