After orchestrating the historic campaign of Alas Pilipinas, De Guzman earned the prestigious title of Best Setter of the 2024 AVC Challenge Cup.
The Alas Pilipinas captain, undeniably the heart and soul of the team, hoisted the coveted trophy hours after leading the country to a bronze-medal finish with a straight-set win over Australia, a first for the country in an AVC-sanctioned tournament in 63 years.
De Guzman was the glue that held together an eclectic mix of UAAP stars and PVL standouts, molding a cohesive team in under two weeks before the tournament.
Also emerging as an awardee for the Philippines is Angel Canino, who dazzled as the Best Opposite Hitter.

Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen of eventual champion Vietnam took home the Most Valuable Player award, while her teammate Le Thanh Thuy copped one of the Best Middle Blocker awards, alongside Yakimova Yuliya of Kazakhstan.
Australia captain Caitlin Tipping and Kazakhstan skipper Sana Anarkulova captured the Best Outside Hitters.
Completing the list of awardees is Best Libero Nguyen Khanh Dang of Vietnam.
