Volleyball (and being a BINI) definitely runs in the genes of the Belen sisters.
We already know Bella, the two-time UAAP MVP, Season 84 Rookie of the Year, and now the defending champion with the NU Lady Bulldogs.
But their family tree got volleyball in its DNA as her younger sister, Bubay, has now dug her own name in the taraflex scene.
The 14-year-old libero Ghenievib Belen, also known as Bubay, is now part of the official roster of the Alas Pilipinas U18 Women’s team, which will compete in the 15th AVC Asian U18 Championship.
In their TV guesting at Gud Morning Kapatid, Bubay shared that her ate Bella is her main inspiration for joining the sport of volleyball.
“No’ng nakita ko po si ate po na naglalaro ng volleyball, na-inspired din po ako na maglaro kasi parang ang saya saya niya po maglaro. Marami po siyang natutunan po, and marami po siyang nai-inspire na mga tao po,” said Bubay.
Paano bang masaya, Bubay? Parang ganito ba? Kidding!
And being in the same industry, it’s time for Bubay to criticize her food.
“Kung meron isang kailangang ayusin si Ate Bella mo [sa volleyball], ano? ”Asked host Chiqui Roa-Puno.
“Ano po siguro... hala,” laughed Bubay.
“Lahat naman po nagagawa niya, ‘yong mga blockings po, spiking po, tapos sa receive din po. Lahat po kaya niyang gawin kaya parang wala na po, eh?” proudly said Bubay.
Slaaaaaay!
And since Bella is already “perfect” in the eyes of her biggest supporter, Bubay, in terms of volleyball, how about in the BINIverse?
Alas Pilipinas’ Libero Bubay was game and ready as she showcased her BINI dance grooves to the tune of the Ppop’s hit song, Salamin, Salamin.
Show them what you’ve got, Bubay!
But of course, as a batang palaban, Bella won’t back down easily.
In the Instagram story of user @_dvelasco, BINI Bella was dancing Salamin with the Lady Bulldogs. But Bella being Bella, of course it was a dog show once again!
Parang iba ata ‘yan, beh!
So the question is, who won in a BINI showdown between the Belen sisters?
One thing is for sure: the Belen sisters are the perfect duo we never thought we needed.
