Alas Pilipinas Men’s road to international glory has been set, with the Philippine national team placed with top nations in the 2025 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship, which the country will host from September 12 to 28, 2025.
As the tournament hosts, the Philippines were placed into Pool A along with world no. 24 Tunisia, reigning African champion Egypt, and world no. 15 Iran. The draw has held on September 14 at the Solaire Grand Ballroom in Pasay City.
Under the tournament format, Alas Men, ranked 64th in the world, will play their Pool A foes once, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage.
World no. 1 Poland leads Pool B, where they are joined by Romania, Egypt, Qatar, and the Netherlands.
Olympic and VNL champions France, alongside South Korea, Finland, Puerto Rico, and world no. 9 Argentina, will compete in Pool C.
In Pool D, world no. 3 USA is matched with Colombia, Portugal, and world no. 12 Cuba.
Pool E features world no. 4 Slovenia, Chile, Bulgaria, and world no. 8 Germany.
Reigning world champions Italy will compete in Pool F, facing African championship runner-up Algeria, Belgium, and world no. 14 Ukraine.
Pool G brings together current Asian champions Japan, Libya, Turkiye, and Canada.
Lastly, Pool H includes world no. 7 Brazil, China, Czechia, and world no. 10 Serbia.
The men's world championship games will be hosted at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao and the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, offering local fans the opportunity to witness top-tier volleyball action.
