Ange Kouame shined on both ends of the floor in arguably his best performance in a Gilas Pilipinas uniform as the national team reclaimed the Asian Games gold after 61 years of title drought.
The naturalized big man known for his defensive prowess scored 14 points in an efficient 83.3% shooting against Jordan, on top of 11 rebounds, five steals, and two blocks.
Fans heaped praise on Kouame for his heroics in the gold medal match. He even converted non-believers into instant supporters.
"May not be a fan of Ange Kouame during UAAP days but I'm surely now as a Gilas fan. Galing yung defense and rebounding niya tonight. He understood his assignment very well," X (formerly Twitter) user @_PLB7 said.
