Gilas Pilipinas are on the rise.

In the latest FIBA world rankings, the national team is slowly regaining ground, rising to no. 37 for a one-spot improvement.

The same applies to FIBA Asia’s latest power rankings, seeing Gilas take the no. 3 spot behind Australia and Japan.

FIBA Asia lauded Gilas’ flying start to the 2025 Asia Cup Qualifiers, saying the Tim Cone-led squad passed both the eye and numbers tests.

"Gilas fans should be elated that the team is arguably the best offensive team so far in the Qualifiers with six players averaging at least 9 points per game,” the Volume 2 of the Power Rankings had to say about Gilas.

“The statistic that best represents why the fans are so excited about this team? An average of 31.5 assists per game with both games recording over 30 in each contest.”

In the opening window of the Asia Cup Qualifiers, coach Tim’s first time handling the national team in a FIBA setting, Gilas bucked a slow start against Hong Kong on the road before taking a 30-point win.

In the home opener against Chinese Taipei, Gilas went full showtime for a dominant victory.

The next window of the Asia Cup Qualifiers comes in November and Gilas will have New Zealand and Hong Kong on deck.
