Jamie Malonzo has not seen action since suffering a calf injury in April.
There’s no chance Jamie Malonzo will join Gilas Pilipinas for the second window of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers.
Gilas coach Tim Cone confirmed this shortly after his Ginebra side fell short against TNT, 85-95, in Game 6 of the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup Finals on Friday, Nov. 8.
“No. He won't play for Gilas until he gets back with Ginebra and plays for Ginebra first,” said Cone.
The Nationals will play New Zealand and Hong Kong later this month.
Malonzo has yet to play for the Gin Kings since sustaining a calf injury in an elimination round game against NorthPort in the Season 48 Philippine Cup last April 14.
The high-flying winger had been watching the Ginebra's recent campaign in the Governors’ Cup in street clothes. Malonzo is not yet cleared to play.
“He has to play for Ginebra before he’s available to play for Gilas,” said Cone.

Asked if Malonzo could possibly help the Gin Kings in the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup, Cone could only keep his fingers crossed.
“We hope so. We’re hoping he and Miah (Jeremiah Gray) will be available for us next conference. Not a slam dunk,” said Cone.
