Last month, Kai Sotto made headlines when he signed with the Hiroshima Dragonflies of the Japan B. League. Now, the spotlight is back on the 7-foot-2 Filipino center as he rocks his new team’s threads publicly for the first time.

On the official Facebook page of the Japan B.League, pictures of Sotto wearing the orange and teal colors of the Dragonflies were unveiled.

Thousands of his fans clicked the react button in no time.

It seems like Sotto is fully focused on playing for the fifth-best team in the B.League right now. He begged off from Gilas Pilipinas in the last window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers, and as we can see he has a lot on his plate as Hiroshima’s new star player. It would’ve been great for Gilas had the 20-year-old pivot chose to play against Lebanon and Jordan, but it’s also understandable why he took a rain check.

Sotto last played professionally in Australia’s National Basketball League with the Adelaide 36ers. Under coach CJ Bruton, we saw glimpses of Kai’s immense potential, but the erratic minutes he saw may have slowed down his development. Now, he has a promising role with an elite squad. Plus, the franchise has already gone on record saying they’re going to support Sotto’s bid to play in the NBA.

Should he play as good as he looked in his new threads, then everything may go according to plan with the Hiroshima Dragonflies.
