The Philippine Women's National Football Team is wreaking havoc in the first round of the AFC Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

The Filipinas recorded clean sheets in back-to-back games, scoring eye-pooping 12 total goals so far. Last night, they made quick work of Tajikistan behind an 8-0 performance. The PWNFT scored six of their eight goals in the first half, then Chandler McDaniel scored a brace in the second half.

"In the first half, we were a lot better, second half we took our foot off the pedal a bit, but we are top of the table now and look forward to a tough game against Hong Kong," Filipinas coach Alen Stajcic said.

All that's left for the Philippine side is to wrap up Group E to advance to the next round of the Olympics qualifiers, and blocking that path is the also unbeaten Hong Kong.

"We’ll have a look see how fresh everyone is. Hong Kong is on six points just like us,"

Like the Philippines, Hong Kong hasn't conceded a goal in the tournament yet, scoring five total goals in wins over Tajikistan and Pakistan. Coach Stajcic knows well that they can't take the world ranked 79th for granted.

"It will be a tough game, a very close game, but if we play well, I’m confident we can get the job done."

The Philippines will formally claim their hold of the number one spot, and advance to the second round of the AFC Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament if they win or draw against Hong Kong when they meet on Tuesday.
