More Filipino hoopers will be spotted abroad.
The Filipino exodus to basketball leagues overseas continues as Juan Gomez de Liaño and AJ Edu are set to play in South Korea and Japan, respectively.
The former UP Fighting Maroon in de Liaño is set join the Seoul SK Knights in the KBL.
This is will be his fourth stop as an import.
The 23-year-old guard previously played for Earth Friends Tokyo Z in the second division of Japan’s B.League. He also had a short stint with Indonesian club BBM Viking Warriors, before signing with the BC Wolves in Lithuania this past season.
The Knights are coming off a runner-up finish in the 2022-23 KBL season, just falling short after going into the full seven games against Rhenz Abando and Anyang KGC in the final.
Edu, meanwhile, will head over to Japan to play for the Toyama Grouses.
The Grouses is the former team of fellow Gilas Pilipinas pool member Dwight Ramos, who now plays for Levanga Hokkaido.
Toyama finished with the third-worst record in the past Japan B.League season.
