The Gregzilla signs another contract with the Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka
Greg Slaughter found a new lease on life in the Japan B.League after exiting the PBA in 2022, and the seven-footer is running it back with the Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka.
The league's official Instagram account confirmed Slaughter's extension.
"Greg Slaughter will be back with Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka for the 2023-24 season," the post said.
At 35 years old, Slaughter was the second oldest player in Fukuoka's previous roster.
The four-time PBA champion and 2017 PBA Govenors' Cup Best Player of the Conference averaged 4.7 points and 3 rebounds in 11.9 minutes of action per game.
In one of his best performances in Japan, the towering center tallied a double-double performance of 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 assists in a lopsided victory against the Earthfriends Tokyo Z last November 12.
Slaughter will look to emulate more of the same performance as he continues his professional career overseas. The Rizing Zephyr will also aim to improve upon a hapless 20-40 recond, which was only good for fifth place in the eastern group of the Japan B.League's second division.
