Santiago will be a key piece in JT Marvelous’ championship hopes.
Jaja Santiago will continue to play in the Japan V.League, but this time, she will be wearing a different jersey.
On Monday, V.League division 1 team JT Marvelous announced on its official channels that Santiago will join the team for the upcoming season.
The 6-foot-5 middle blocker previously parted ways with the Saitama Ageo Medics, where she spent five years.
Santiago was selected as one of the top middle blockers of the season as part of the V.League’s Best Six.
The former NU Lady Bulldog expressed excitement about opening a new chapter in her pro career.
“I think this season will be an exciting and challenging year,” Santiago said in a statement posted on the team's website. “I will do my best to work together with my new teammates and show the best performance.”
Last season, JT Marvelous finished fifth in the standings during the regular season, just missing out on the Top 4, which advance to the playoff to vie for the championship.
With Santiago on their squad this time around, championship aspirations will be at an all-time high for the Japanese squad.
