Terence Crawford put on an absolute show on Sunday to win the undisputed welterweight championship against a surprisingly outmatched Errol Spence Jr. at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

It was a tour de force for the 35-year-old Omahan, who blistered the 33-year-old New Yorker with punishing jabs and a two-fisted attack that had Spence backing up for majority of the fight—until it was mercifully waved off by referee Harvey Dock in the ninth round.

Spence appeared to have won a feeling-out first round and looked to be in control for the first minute or so of the second. But Crawford floored him with a razor-sharp right jab that seemingly signaled the beginning of the end for Spence. From there, Crawford began taking control, stalking The Truth and delivering blistering combinations.

Crawford then floored Spence twice in round 7 and continued his two-fisted beatdown—up until Crawford’s final fistic flurry that buckled an already bloodied Spence in round 9. Smelling blood, Crawford honed in on his adversary and unloaded several unanswered bombs before Dock called the fight off and saved Spence from further punishment.

"Like I said before, I only dreamed of being a world champion," Crawford said in his postfight in-ring interview with Showtime’s Jim Gray. "I'm an overachiever. Nobody believed in me when I was coming up, but I made everybody a believer. And I want to thank Spence and his team, like I told him, because without him none of this would be possible for me."

Crawford, the WBO champion coming in to this superfight, wrested away Spence’s IBF, WBA and WBC 147-pound titles to become the first undisputed welterweight champion in the four-belt era and the first two-division undisputed belt holder.
