The Strong Group Athletics (SGA) remain undefeated in the ongoing Dubai International Basketball Championship, overcoming a tough challenge from Lebanon’s Homenetmen, 104-95, early Monday morning (PHL).
Trailing for most of the first half, Strong Group found its groove in the third quarter before distancing itself from the Lebanese squad late in the fourth quarter.
Dwight Howard dominated the paint for SGA, erupting for 32 points and seven rebounds to carry the team over Homenetmen which featured former Meralco Bolts import Zach Lofton.
Kevin Quiambao also had anpther solid game with 19 points, while Andray Blatche and Andre Roberson added 18 and 13 points, respectively. Blatche in particular was sensational in the fourth, firing 15 all from threes.
Lofton, meanwhile, finished with a game-high 37 points to go with 8 boards and 7 assists for Homenetmen.
Strong Group will have a two-day break before it eyes its fourth straight victory in tournament, going up against the Beirut Sports Club on Wednesday, January 25, at 1:15 a.m. (PHL time).
