Petro Gazz is starting to shape up heading into the PNVF Champions League Finals after a resounding semifinals win over the Chery Tiggo Crossovers on Friday night.

Far from their shaky performance in the preliminaries, the Angels showed a glimpse of their fearsome potential as they dismantled Chery Tiggo in straight sets.

And unlike their previous outings, Petro Gazz did not need Brooke Van Sickle to lead the offensive thrust.

"It was a team win, like everyone played extremely well and everyone came on fire today. We have stuff to prove and we wanna prove," the Filipino-American Van Sickle noted.

Jonah Sabete took charge for Petro Gazz, putting up a game-high 19 points built on 13 spikes, four blocks and two aces.

Remy Palma stayed in pace with Van Sickle as the two churned out 10 and 12 markers, respectively, while the rest of the Angels contributed in ways other than scoring.

Safe to say, the Angels are primed for an upswing, and Van Sickle attributes their recent success to their growth as a unit.

"I’m just super proud of the entire team. All the work we’ve been putting in, it’s starting to show and I’m really excited to see us continue growing," the 24-year-old outside spiker gushed.

Still, job's not finished for Petro Gazz as it faces the Cignal HD Spikers in the championship round tomorrow, Saturday.

Van Sickle and the Angels are well aware of this fact, and they expect nothing less than a slugfest right from the go.

"I’m expecting tomorrow they’re (Cignal) gonna come on fire, for sure. Especially they’ve just played a five-setter, they’re gonna definitely come out very aggressive," Van Sickle said.

"But as long as we stay calm, we just take care of our business, I believe we can compete for sure. It’s anyone’s game. It’s just who’s making less errors, who’s the one coming out aggressive. I believe both teams will, but hopefully we’ll have a little bit more."

The PNVF Champions League Finals will air Saturday, February 10, on One Sports, One Sports+, and the Pilipinas Live app.
