Alas Pilipinas players will now be allowed to return to their respective PVL clubs after receiving clearance from the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) on Monday, September 9.

Sports Vision President Ricky Palou confirmed that all PVL players who went on national team duty can now suit up for their respective teams.

“All the players of Alas have been released as of today. So they can join their respective teams. In-announce ni [PNVF] President Tats Suzara that they’re released as of today and they can go and join the PVL games.” Palou said.

His response came after the Cignal of duo Vanie Gandler and Dawn Macandili-Catindig made an appearance in uniform for the HD Spikers ahead of their PVL Invitational Conference match against the Creamline Cool Smashers at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Gandler and Macandili-Catindig suited up for Cignal right after Alas Pilipinas went to the Senate Building near MOA Arena on Monday afternoon for a courtesy call to senators Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano.

Creamline’s Alas player Jema Galanza was not in uniform for Cignal foes, but according to Palou, all teams were made aware that the national team players can already return to their respective clubs.

“Yeah, yeah. Everybody [was aware].” he said.

The PNVF executive said that he also talked to Galanza about not suiting up for the Cool Smashers right away.

“I was telling Jema why aren’t you in uniform? Sabi niya maybe next game babalik. Kasi we were in the Senate until six-o-clock, siguro mela-late na rin siya pumunta rito.” Palou added.

The PVL Invitational Conference is set to wrap up by Thursday, September 12, with the knockout Finals and battle for bronze.
