The greatest of all time is back.

Lewis Hamilton is a Formula 1 Grand Prix winner again, taking the checkered flag at the British Grand Prix Sunday.

In a wet and wild race, Hamilton took the lead from McLaren’s Lando Norris on Lap 40 as the race leaders switched their intermediate tyres for slicks.

Lewis then took his soft tyres to the end, fending off a late charge from rival Max Verstappen of Red Bull, who was on hard tyres and was gaining fast as the light rain disappeared to end the race

The victory was Hamilton’s 104th for his career, extending his all-time lead and adding to his count with Mercedes in his final season with the team. It was also Lewis’ first win since Saudi Arabia in 2021.

To cap it all off, it was Hamilton’s 9th win at Silverstone, setting the new record for most wins at a single track and breaking the tie he shared with the great Michael Schumacher.

The 2024 Formula 1 season has featured six Grand Prix winners, double the amount from last year.
