Can third time be the charm for June Mar Fajardo and San Miguel against Eastern? Beermen back in action in the EASL against Hong Kong.
San Miguel aims to salvage some pride and secure its first win in the 2024-25 East Asia Super League (EASL) as the Beermen once again tangle with Hong Kong Eastern on Wednesday, January 15 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
Despite being eliminated from playoff contention, the PBA powerhouse are eager to finally end a winless run in the tournament against a familiar opponent.
This will be San Miguel's third meeting with Eastern in a span of just over a month, with the Hong Kong-based squad prevailing in both the EASL and the ongoing PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup last two times out.

At 0-4, the Beermen are sitting at the bottom of the Group A standings and got officially booted out of Final Four contention after a disappointing 94-63 loss to the Hiroshima Dragonflies on the road.
Meanwhile, Eastern needs another win over San Miguel, as well as against Taiwan's Taoyuan Pauian Pilots in their final group stage game to stay in Final Four contention.
The Beermen will cap their EASL campaign on the road against the KBL's Suwon KT Sonicboom on February 12.
