The Philippine women’s national football team is set to go home and hold a Manila training camp in February, as the team prepares for a busy 2025.

The Filipinas will return to the Philippines for the first time since August last year and engage in a 9-day training camp which is set to culminate with an intrasquad exhibition game at the newly completed Mall of Asia Football Field.

Among the competitions slated for the Filipinas this year are the AFF Women’s Championship, where they are the defending champions, and the Asian Cup qualifiers in the midyear. Then in December, the team will participate in the Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.

“I’m really looking forward to having the Filipinas back in action at home, where the supporters in Manila can get a chance to experience the team up close, in one of the city’s new and exciting football venues,” said Filipinas head coach Mark Torcaso.

“There’s a lot to play for in 2025. This camp gives us a great opportunity to continue building the foundation for the way we want to play. We cannot wait to be back home to showcase our Filipinas,” he added.

The Filipinas have been otherwise inactive in recent months, with their last taste of action happening in Pink Ladies Week in Turkiye back in October.

Before that, the Filipinas played a couple of friendlies in South Korea in April last year.

For Director of Senior National Teams Freddy Gonzales, the Manila camp will serve as a good opportunity for the girls to get back into action and more importantly, be able to connect with fans back home.

“The Filipinas haven't spent much time at home since their historic World Cup run, so it's a really good opportunity for all the fans to connect with the team, and for our players to savor the experience of playing in front of their supporters. I can't think of a better way to introduce the new Mall of Asia Football Field to the Philippine public," said Gonzalez.

"Nine days of solid work at home, familiarizing with one another and with Coach Mark's game model will be a great way to start a big 2025 for the Filipinas." he added.

More details are expected to be announced later on about the intrasquad friendly slated at 6 p.m. on February 25 at the MOA Football Field.
