Jeremy “The Juggernaut” Pacatiw will take on Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu at ONE Fight Night 29.
Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu has a lot of great things going for him, but Jeremy “The Juggernaut” Pacatiw sees holes that he can exploit ahead of their fight.
The two are set for a clash of contenders at ONE Fight Night 29: Rodrigues vs. McManamon on March 8 inside Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Pacatiw believes that as tough as the Mongolian is, he’s still susceptible to very good strikers – something the Lions Nation MMA representative plans to exploit.
“His striking game is kind of suspect to be honest,” he said.
“I can see simple one-two combinations connecting on him in the past but he’s so tough, and he’s got a strong chin that he just shrugs it off. Maybe I’ll add more to it and try to attack his body more.”
That’s why Pacatiw is sure enough that he can finish off the tough Mongolian.
“I want to finish the fight as soon as possible,” Pacatiw said. “I’m eyeing a submission or a knockout.”
After all, this fight isn’t just about getting one back for the Philippines, even if Baatarkhuu holds four victories over Filipinos. Pacatiw’s trajectory in the loaded bantamweight MMA division is also on the line in this fight.
“Since it’s a battle of top-five fighters, this is a much bigger opportunity for me. I want to move up the rankings, and the best way to do it is beat higher ranked fighters than me. That’s the motivation for me, [to] continue to climb up the rankings,” he said.
“I have to do my part. I have to prepare because we’re both here now. He’s number four, and I’m at number five. If I win, maybe I’ll take his spot. If I lose, I could lose this spot. That’s why this fight is so crucial for me. I want to win. I need to win. I have to make sure I get my hands raised after.”
