Abando and Abarrientos faced off recently. It didn't end well for the KBL All-Star guard.
Officer, we’d like to report a crime.
If you don’t believe us, watch this short video of Rhenz Abando humiliating RJ Abarrientos and taking the life out of him.
Well, that's an exaggeration, but you get the point. It was a nasty block by a Filipino on a fellow countryman.
Abando uploaded the highlight on his page, and Abarrientos had to concede it was a good play. But the guard also commented that Abando could have gone lightly on him, "Wala kang patawad pati ako, lakay."
In the battle of Pinoy reinforcements, Abando dominated Abarrientos as Anyang KGC bested Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus in a 100-86 blowout on Wednesday.
The former NCAA MVP had another solid performance with 20 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks, and 1 assist in 30 minutes of play.
The former FEU standout, on the other hand, had a rough game with only 6 points, shooting only 2-of-9 from three, while notching 4 assists and 3 steals.
Ulsan tried to mount a comeback late in the game but ultimately fell short. With the win, Anyang remained at the top of the KBL standings with 22 wins and 9 losses before the All-Star festivities this weekend.
At least, Abarrientos can flaunt to Abando that he will play in the All-Star game, as he's the only Asian import in the KBL to be named to the star-studded game. He is also taking part in the three-point shootout.
Abando, not to be outdone, is set to compete in the KBL Dunk Contest.
