Look out? Fans left impressed as Team USA hammers Puerto Rico in tune-up game
USA Basketball

Team USA came out with a strong performance as they roll past Puerto Rico, 117-74, in their tune-up game on Tuesday as part of their FIBA World Cup preparations.

After a sluggish start, Team USA dominated the game in the second half, scoring 67 points compared to Puerto Rico's 31.

Content creator NBA Memes had the perfect, well, meme to capture the game story in the last two quarters. It was like men playing against boys.

X (formerly Twitter) user @official_keith3 agrees, saying that the Americans "put on a clinic."

The American team displayed impressive depth and balanced scoring, with seven players reaching double figures.

Anthony Edwards and Cam Johnson led the way, each contributing 15 points. Tyrese Haliburton showcased his playmaking skills with 12 assists and added 7 points.

Jalen Brunson also had an outstanding performance as the starting point guard. The 6-foot-1 ace posted a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Swingman Austin Reaves also impressed fans—and even his Los Angeles Lakers teammate LeBron James—with his hot start during the tune-up game. He tallied 9 markers.

Of course, Desmond Bane was also in full support for his Memphis Grizzlies brother Jaren Jackson Jr, who was his usual prolific self on defense while also adding 12 points.

Netizen @cblaketweets is only excited for the things to come.

"Great dub. This team is gonna be so fun."

Following their win, Team USA will head over to Spain for scrimmages against Slovenia and Spain.

Shortly after that, the Americans will head to Abu Dhabi for warm-up games against Greece and Germany to further prepare for the World Cup.
