Following the qualification of Carlo Paalam and Hergie Bacyadan, the Philippines is set to field five Filipino boxers in the upcoming Olympics in Paris, France.

Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines (ABAP) President Cong. Robbie Puno personally supported the boxers in the 2nd World Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament.

ABAP Chairman Ricky Vargas and Executive Director & Secretary General Marcus Manalo accompanied him to Bangkok, Thailand.

Paalam punched his ticket to Paris after defeating India’s Sachin Siwach through a unanimous decision in the men's 57kg event.
