The three-time reigning world champions scored an impressive 490.35 points, receiving perfect 10s and no scores lower than 8.0. Their final dive, a forward 4 1/2 somersaults in the tuck position, sealed their victory with all 9.0s and 9.5s from the judges.
Tom Daley, the five-time British Olympian who won gold in this event in Tokyo, praised the flawless performance of the Chinese duo as he settled for silver this time.
