China

China's diving dominance continues as Lian Junjie and Yang Hao won the gold medal in the synchronized 10-meter platform event at the Paris Olympics, marking their second consecutive gold of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The three-time reigning world champions scored an impressive 490.35 points, receiving perfect 10s and no scores lower than 8.0. Their final dive, a forward 4 1/2 somersaults in the tuck position, sealed their victory with all 9.0s and 9.5s from the judges.

Tom Daley, the five-time British Olympian who won gold in this event in Tokyo, praised the flawless performance of the Chinese duo as he settled for silver this time. China's continued excellence aims to achieve an unprecedented sweep of all diving golds since the addition of synchronized events in 2000, having already won 40 of 50 golds since then.

China's victory marked their 49th Olympic diving gold, tying them with the United States for the most in history, with a strong likelihood of surpassing this record by the end of Paris 2024.
