Remember Dillinger Lopez?
Dillinger is now a bona fide Barangay Ginebra Gin King.
To be clear, we’re referring to a kid named Dillinger Lopez.
Ginebra veteran Jared Dillinger met his namesake in December and promised to send him a Christmas gift in the form a Ginebra care package.
“Met someone special at the game that struck my heart,” he said in a Twitter post back in December last year. “Meet Dillinger Lopez, his parents named him after me.”
This happened in the heat of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals between Ginebra and the visiting Bay Area Dragons. But like the other legends who came before him, Dillinger has always made the time for Ginebra fans before and after each game.
One time the Daredevil even caught a smartphone from a fan, who was at the lower box section of the Mall of Asia Arena, just to take a photo with them. Then he tossed the phone back.
It took a while, but the Ginebra kit, which included a signed basketball as well as a Ginebra bag and jerseys, finally found its way to Lopez.
“The little bro finally got his care package,” Dillinger shared on Twitter on Wednesday.
