Barangay Ginebra San Miguel was down by six points with 1:49 left in the game on Sunday against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. Obviously, ROS appeared to have the win in the bag but Ginebra had a “magic bunot” in Jayson David. With less than two minutes to go, the 20th pick of the PBA Season 47 Draft made his presence felt and came up clutch, much to the delight of the Ginebra faithful inside the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Trailing 107-104, David converted on two fearless drives to the basket, which put Ginebra up 108-107 for good.

It wasn’t the first time that the 6-foot-3 forward showed out in the PBA On Tour preseason gamesFacing NorthPort Batang Pier earlier this month, David impressed by notching a stat line of 15 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks.

His latest performance, however, seemed to have really earned the stamp of approval from the Never-Say-Die nation.

Ginebra veteran Jared Dillinger was ecstatic after his squad pulled off the comeback victory behind David’s game-winning buckets.

NSD fan @Lazerbeak071 showed his appreciation for David’s fantastic display in crunch time.

“Yes, sir NSD. Great Game for David,” he posted.

Gerard then got a reply from Dillinger, who couldn't hide his joy for his teammate.

"I'm so happy for him [David]. He deserved it,” Dillinger said about the former NCAA standout.

David had a stint with Ginebra’s 3x3 team before he became a part of the main roster. And now that he’s been getting the breaks every young hooper wishes for, he’s been able to prove so far that he belongs with Team NSD.
