Then again, he might be thinking of something else.
It appears TNT Tropang Giga guard Mikey Williams is hearing—or reading—plenty of slander these past few days.
And it seems he has spoken about them… sort of.
On Saturday, the enigmatic playmaker posted on X (formerly Twitter) a series of tweets alluding to people supposedly spreading lies—presumably about him—because the hate is not working, or something to that effect.
Williams’ opening salvo so to speak made that abundantly clear.
“When the hate don’t work they start telling lies lol,” Williams wrote on X.
His next couple of tweets were more symbolic, but they were pointed nonetheless.
The second tweet contained 70 blue caps.
The third tweet, meanwhile, simply said: “One to many 🧢’s.”
A blue cap, to the uninitiated, is an emoji that symbolizes “cap,” which is in turn the slang for “lie.” In effect, Williams is saying that there are one too many lies being spread—again, presumably about him.
Williams, of course, is still back in the US with the Commissioner’s Cup already in full swing in yet another holdout that many believe is related to the prolific scorer asking TNT management for a considerable raise. And it appears negotiations have gone nowhere, with Jojo Lastimosa telling reporters previously that he hasn’t heard from the two-time finals MVP.
Prior to this much-publicized dispute, Williams’ name was also dragged into another controversy, with not a few fans pointing at the Fil-Am as one of the two players who purportedly asked for the moon before signing up to play for Gilas in the Asian Games.
Then again, it is just as plausible that maybe Williams was thinking about something else entirely when he sent out said tweets. Or, he might really be alluding to all those reports about him here in the Philippines.
Whatever the case is, only Williams can say for certain.
