The Road Warriors are hoping that Williams Baldwin could lead the team to the playoffs.
The NLEX Road Warriors are set to make one final playoff push in the PBA Season Commissioner’s Cup.
NLEX announced the addition of new import Deandre Williams Baldwin on Tuesday, replacing Stokley Chaffee Jr., who played five games for the team.
WIlliams Baldwin is making is professional debut, and will have a baptism of fire as the Road Warriors chase sister team TNT for the final slot in the Commissioner's Cup playoff bracket. NLEX is sitting at 9th with a 3-6 record, half a game back of the Tropang Giga.
Despite his relative inexperience professionally, Williams Baldwin was a productive collegiate player, spending two years at Evansville before being a key contributor for Memphis for three more seasons.
In his senior year at Memphis, the 6-foot-9 forward did all for the team, averaging 17.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
Out for the Road Warriors is Chaffee Jr., who played five games for NLEX and averaged 22.8 points, 13.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game.
However, the team went 1-4 during his time.
Williams Baldwin is NLEX's third import for the Commissioner's Cup, with former NBA lottery pick Thomas Robinson starting the season for the Road Warriors. He will debut Wednesday vs. Converge.
