Longtime Barangay Ginebra San Miguel forward has been living the life in the United States, nurturing kids and their hoop dreams at the Pacific Elite Basketball Academy.

And it turns out, being there is a great way to connect with some of the greats.

At the start of the year, JDV got an awesome selfie with ultramarathon runner, retired US Navy SEAL, and motivational speaker David Goggins.

Ray Parks and Jared Dillinger had their minds blown.

And then three days ago, JDV got to meet a scrappy baller very familiar to him and to the Philippines--his San Mig Coffee teammate and 2013 PBA Governors' Cup Best Import Marqus Blakely.

"Being able to continue our journey through life even after we had so many battles together on the court is a BLESSING @mygi22!" Devance posted on Instagram.

"We won plenty of CHAMPIONSHIPS together and we are still going strong together. This is true BROTHERHOOD. Welcome to @pacificelitebasketball @mygi22"

Last year, Blakely was welcoming as a coach for the Los Angeles Prospects.

And a few days later, JDV got to meet another PBA Best Import--his Ginebra teammate Justin Brownlee.

“Surprised to bump to the 1 and only @magic_brown32," he wrote on Instagram story.

Brownlee was supposed to suit up for Barangay Ginebra in the ongoing PBA Commissioner's Cup, after helping Gilas Pilipinas regain the men's basketball gold medal in the 19th Asian Games, but a doping violation hampered those plans.

He tested positive for the prohibited substance carboxy-THC, which is linked to cannabis.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas said the World Anti-Doping Agency's report reached FIBA, and they're all just waiting for the international basketball federation's decision.

Barangay Ginebra seems to be doing fine though as they battle with sister team San Miguel Beermen in the best-of-five semifinals series of the Commissioner's Cup with Tony Bishop.

We sure miss seeing JB in action again!
