A new journey awaits James Yap as his time with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters has officially ended.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Yap reflected on his decision to part ways with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, marking the end of a significant chapter in his illustrious career.

“After much prayer and reflection, I have decided to end my journey as an Elasto Painter. I have truly appreciated all those who have supported me during this time and thank you for making me part of your family for 7 years,” wrote Yap.

Yap had signed a one-conference deal with the Elasto Painters in September ahead of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The former two-time MVP, however, played sparingly, suiting up for just three games where he averaged 5.0 points and 1.0 rebounds per game.

Nonetheless, Yap expressed his deep appreciation for the unwavering support he received from fans and the ROS management.

The 41-year-old forward also hinted at an upcoming chapter in his life.

“I also want to extend my gratitude to the team’s management for graciously approving my request for release and allowing me to move forward to begin the next chapter in my life,” said Yap.

“I will always be grateful for this team @bayanngros, for all the memories, and for the lessons we went through together,” he added.
