The Ginebra Gin Kings could not find any answer to the Meralco Bolts' onslaught in their loss Friday, March 15, in the PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup.
Ginebra coach Tim Cone did not hide his disappointment when he faced reporters in the aftermath of a 91-73 defeat in the hands of Meralco in the PBA Season 48 Philippine Cup on Friday, March 15.
“Embarassing. That’s all I’ve got to say,” Cone said at the end of the match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Gin Kings were stumped from start to finish in the battle that saw them trail by as many as 31 points as the Bolts seized control early and never looked back.
Ginebra thus wound up on the losing end after a hot 2-0 start to the All-Filipino conference.

The Gin Kings, who pride themselves on great ball movement, tallied only 11 assists against Meralco.
Ginebra handed out 22 dimes versus Rain or Shine and 27 in its face-off with Phoenix en route to securing their first two triumphs.
“We're just absolutely embarrassed from moment one to moment 10. Forty-eight minutes,” said Cone.
“I don't have answers to any questions. I don't know what the hell happened.”

The Gin Kings will have to figure out a way soon as they are set to face rival Magnolia on Sunday, March 31, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“It's an embarrassing night. We just hope this doesn't define us,” said Cone.
