The Elasto Painters thus seized the solo lead in Group B while dealing the Road Warriors their first loss after a similar 2-0 start.
Jhonard Clarito finished with 24 points on a perfect 9-for-9 shooting from the field he complemented with five steals, four assists and three rebounds for Rain or Shine, which came back from 40-24 down after the opening period.
Gian Mamuyac turned in 22 points, while Aaron Fuller had a 21-point, 20-rebound outing that went with three steals and two assists.
Andrei Caracut added 17 points, including a floater with a minute and 30 seconds remaining that gave the Elasto Painters a 121-103 lead.
"Nagpasensiya lang kami. We just tried to recover from the shock. They were making all their threes, so medyo nakakabigla. Sabi namin, let's just weather the storm and play our game," said Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao.
Robert Bolick paced NLEX with 22 points, seven assists and four rebounds while reinforcement Myke Henry also impressed with his 21 points, six rebounds and four assists.
But their efforts proved futile for the Road Warriors.
