TNT targets second-straight Governors' Cup title in rematch with Ginebra

The TNT Tropang Giga are back in familiar territory as they prepare to face Barangay Ginebra in the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup Finals.

Finishing as the top overall seed with an impressive 8-2 record in Group A, TNT enters the Finals looking like the actual team to beat, having dismantled NLEX in the quarterfinals (3-1) and Rain or Shine in the semifinals (4-1).

This sets up a highly-anticipated rematch from the Season 47 Governors' Cup Finals, where TNT claimed the championship in a hard-fought 4-2 series victory over Ginebra.

TNT’s title hopes once again rest on the shoulders of the dynamic Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

The do-it-all forward has been phenomenal in the playoffs, averaging 26.2 points, 12.0 rebounds, 8.4 assists, 3.8 steals, and 2.2 blocks during the semifinals against Rain or Shine.

Hollis-Jefferson's versatility and leadership make him the focal point of the Tropang Giga’s offense and defense, as he aims to secure back-to-back Governors’ Cup titles for the franchise.

Complementing Hollis-Jefferson's brilliance is a strong local core led by veterans RR Pogoy, Poy Erram, Calvin Oftana, and first-time PBA Finals participant Rey Nambatac. 

Nambatac, who has provided crucial scoring and energy, will be eager to make his mark on the Finals stage.
