Donovan Smith joins Phoenix while Ricardo Ratliffe and George King will beef up Magnolia and Blackwater, respectively, in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup.
Phoenix is bringing in Donovan Smith for the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup.
The Fuel Masters announced this development on their social media account on Friday, Oct. 25.
After a dismal Governors’ Cup campaign that saw them mired in the bottom of Group B with a 1-9 record, Phoenix hopes Smith will help them contend in the mid-season conference.
“For the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup, we welcome our import Donovan Smith, who will provide a much-needed presence inside,” the team wrote.
The hefty 6-foot-9 cager last saw action in Kosovo after stints in Romania, Spain, Cyprus, Georgia and Austria.
Before going on a journey overseas, Smith suited up for Quinnipiac, an NCAA Division 1 school, where he averaged 7.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks before sitting out his final month as a senior due to a broken foot.
