Final Four-bound FEU is determined to match last year’s win total as the Tamaraws lock up with the also-ran Adamson Soaring Falcons in the UAAP Season 87 men’s volleyball tournament, Saturday, April 12, at the SMART Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City.

Game time is at 11:00 a.m.

Already assured of a twice-to-beat advantage come playoff time, FEU look to pick up steam and extend their winning streak to three in a second-round clash against Adamson.

The Tamaraws chalked up a 25-21, 19-25, 25-23, and 25-23 victory over the Ateneo Blue Eagles in their last outing.

It boosted FEU’s record to 11-1 through 12 outings. Last Season 86, they ended up with a 12-2 slate before suffering a semifinal exit.

“Magkaiba na 'yung season na previous sa season ngayon. 'Yung moment ng Season 86, na-surpass na namin ‘yon ‘eh. Ngayong season, medyo iba rin 'yung taya ng tao natin sa loob dahil sa mindsetting din. Naka-move forward na kami doon, onto the next na kami,” FEU head coach Eddieson Orcullo told reporters in the post-game press conference.

Amet Bituin fired a team-high 17 points in his start for the Tamaraws in the tournament while Lirick Mendoza added 12 markers.

Dryx Saavedra and super rookie Mikko Espartero combined for 21 markers as Ariel Cacao steered a fluid FEU offense thanks to his 26 excellent sets.
