There were some moments in the crucial stretch when the Ginebra crowd rained boos on TNT import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson in Game 3 of the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup Finals on Friday, Nov. 1.

The former NBA player was unfazed.

“Not the slightest. Not the slightest,” Hollis-Jefferson said with a smile after the Tropang Giga absorbed its first loss in the series, 73-85, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.

RHJ said that only meant fans are getting their money’s worth in what is shaping up to be another classic finale between the two league juggernauts featuring two of the best imports.

“They paid money to come watch us play. They decide to boo; I love it. It means they’re getting their money’s worth,” Hollis-Jefferson said.

The Ginebra faithful's disapproval was understandable since Hollis-Jefferson has been a bane for their beloved squad in the ongoing series.

The former Brooklyn Net’s prowess was none more evident in Game 2 when he flirted with a triple double with his 37 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists.

He also had a steal and a block.

RHJ followed that up with another all-around outing of 24 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Though it did not lead to a victory this time.

The jeers only fuels Hollis-Jefferson to do better as the two teams face again in Game 4 on Sunday, Nov. 3 at the same venue.

“At the end of the day, it’s just fuel for me. I look forward to the next game and the next opportunity. That just gives me energy. It feels good,” he said.
