Rondae Hollis-Jefferson may have edged Justin Brownlee in the Best Import joust, but it was the latter who took the Game 4 win in the PBA Govs' Cup Finals.
On the night he lost the Best Import award to TNT's Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Ginebra resident reinforcement Justin Brownlee just went off.
Brownlee fired 34 points in the Gin Kings’ second straight win, 106-92, over TNT in Game 4 of the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup Finals on Sunday, Nov. 3.
After the match, the naturalized Filipino tipped his hat off to his rival.
“Man, that's a talented dude. He's been playing incredibly the whole conference. It's well-deserved,” said Brownlee of Hollis-Jefferson.
“TNT, in the elimination, it only lost one game. And then in the playoffs, maybe one or two games? But they have just been playing great the whole conference, from elimination to playoffs. He's a huge reason why they're in the Finals. Congratulations to him. It's well-deserved.”

Struggling for most of the first three games, Brownlee finally found his touch early on, dropping 15 points in the opening salvo that set the tone for the Gin Kings.

Brownlee, who also had six rebounds, four assists, and a steal, attributed that to his teammates.
“Obviously, in the past two games, I haven't had a good shooting touch. But it felt great to just come out, be aggressive and see some shots go in,” he said.
“I give a lot of credit to my teammates. You know, when I was open, they found me. And when I wasn't open, they set good screens to get me open. It was a great mixture of them getting me open, finding me and setting screens, and me just being able to knock down shots. It felt good today.”
Ginebra needs Brownlee to be at his best again when it jostles with TNT anew in the pivotal Game 5 on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
