The PBA stayed true to its pledge to help victims of Severe Tropical Storm 'Kristine' through the Alagang Kapatid Foundation.
The PBA officially handed over its two million peso donation to the Alagang Kapatid Foundation for the victims of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine during Game 5 of the Governors’ Cup Finals on Wednesday, November 6.
Present to receive the check during half-time of Game 5 were TV5 President Guido R. Zaballero and Alagang Kapatid Foundation Executive Director Menchie Silvestre.
They were joined by PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial, PBA Chairman Ricky Vargas, Ginebra Governor Al Francis Chua, San Miguel Governor Robert Non, and NLEX Governor Ronald Dulatre.
In late October, heavy rains and winds brought about by the cyclone hammered most of Luzon causing flooding and landslides in several provinces--especially in the Bicol region.
Prior to the best-of-seven series between TNT and Ginebra, the PBA Board of Governors announced that it would be donating the proceeds of Game 1, which was slated last Oct. 27, to the calamity victims.
