Ginebra came out with guns blazing to pummel NorthPort, 119-106, for back-to-back wins in Game 2 of the PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup semifinals at the Philsports Arena in Pasig Friday, Feb. 28.

Japeth Aguilar opened the match with an emphatic dunk, setting the tone for the Gin Kings' early dominance that paved the way for their 2-0 edge in the series.

 

Ginebra built a 35-20 lead at the end of the first period which ballooned to as much as 30 points, 65-35, nearing the break.

While the Batang Pier put up a fight in the second half, it was still not enough as Aguilar and the rest of the Gin Kings did not lift their foot off the gas pedal to secure the win.

Aguilar produced 31 points and eight rebounds to bag Player of the Game honors.

Ginebra will try to sustain its charge even as NorthPort will gun to cut the streak in Game 3 on Sunday, March 2, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.

Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.
