Justin Brownlee has not lost in a Game 7 in a PBA Finals.

The Ginebra resident import looks to keep it that way as he heads into his third deciding match in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup Finals against TNT on Friday, March 28.

“No, I don't think [I've] lost in a Game 7,” said Brownlee after the Gin Kings sorry 87-83 loss to TNT in Game 6 Wednesday, March 26, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum that forced the sudden death.

Brownlee's first Game 7 victory came in the 2017 Governors' Cup against the Allen Durham-led Meralco.

Clinching the crown broke the eight-year curse for Ginebra.

Brownlee once again pocketed a Game 7 win when the Gin Kings overwhelmed guest team Bay Area to win the 2022-23 Commissioner’s Cup in front of 50,000 screaming fans at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

Brownlee finds himself in a familiar stage against the Tropang Giga in a faceoff that is expected to be a dogfight on Friday, March 28.

He has yet to win against Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and TNT in two tries in the Finals, though.

But the naturalized Filipino, who is playing with a dislocated right thumb, hopes that his winning history in Game 7s will translate to a victory over his rival, RHJ, this time.

“Hopefully, we can keep that going. Hopefully,” Brownlee said.
