After the injury to Andrew Nicholson, what's next for Bay Area?

After the injury to Andrew Nicholson, what

With under 32 seconds remaining and Bay Area staging a last-ditch effort to turn the tables in Game 3, Andrew Nicholson went for the rebound after Justin Brownlee’s second free throw.

Scottie Thompson ended up collaring the rebound, while Nicholson ended up on the ground, grimacing in pain.

In that rebound play, the NBA veteran landed on Jamie Malonzo’s foot. He had to be carried by two teammates to the bench and the dugout as Ginebra ran away with an 89-82 win to regain the 2-1 lead in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals on Wednesday.

Nicholson finished with 23 points and 24 rebounds.

Whether the Canadian import will be at full strength in time for Game 4 on Friday is still a big question mark.

For those who are wondering, the Dragons have the option to field prolific import Myles Powell, but taking that step means they could no longer bring back Nicholson once he gets healthy again.

However, Powell himself is down with a foot injury. In a press conference before the Finals, Bay Area head coach Brian Goorjian said he is out for the rest of the conference and that Nicholson will be their man in the best-of-seven series.

With nothing set in stone yet, Ginebra head coach Tim Cone wishes Nicholson well.

“He’s not only a good player, he’s a good person. So I don’t want any ill will on Andrew . . . I hope he can continue to play. I hope he can battle through the injury,” said Cone.

Meanwhile, Ginebra fans expressed on Twitter their hope that the injury is nothing serious.

While Nicholson has given them a headache this series, they don’t wanna see another player go down with an injury.
