Joshua David is ready to take charge and lead the DLSU Green Archers following their huge win over the UP Fighting Maroons to the end the first round of UAAP Season 87.
Coming into UAAP Season 87, perhaps the biggest question for the DLSU Green Archers was if they had enough steady point guards to lead the team.
Many fans had doubts after seeing La Salle struggle in some games, but against the UP Fighting Maroons, Joshua David made sure to put those doubts to rest.
Against UP, David contributed 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc, to go along with seven rebounds and two assists.
The 6-foot guard acknowledged the doubts that La Salle faced, but he pointed to coach Topex Robinson’s system, which allows all players to bring the ball down.

Joining the Taft-based squad in 2019 as a combo guard, David was placed into a full point guard role under Robinson in Season 86, where he helped the squad claim the title.
The transition wasn’t easy, but David credited his teammates and coaches for helping him out in his new role.
In particular, David made sure to single out former La Salle point guard Evan Nelle for helping him even in the ongoing season.
Kumbaga, kahit naman ngayon gina-guide niya nun, kina-kamusta niya ako,” said David.

Having missed Season 84 and 85 due to an ACL injury, David is making sure to make the most out of his remaining time in Taft.
